In the recently completed Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' & Exhibitors' Association (TWHBEA) International Board of Directors election candidates opposed to the passage of HR 1518/S. 1406 (PAST Act) received over 75% of the vote from the members of TWHBEA.  The election, with results tabulated by accounting firm Cook & Co. saw 2,728 votes cast for 68 different candidates in the election.

Of those votes, 2062 (76%) were cast for candidates that opposed the industry devastating legislation introduced by Congressman Ed Whitfield (R. Ky).  Whitfield's wife, Connie Harriman-Whitfield, works for the Humane Society of the United States, one of the most staunch supporters of the legislation.

At the May meeting of the International Board of Directors, over 60% of those in attendance opposed the legislation.  With the completion of the most recent election, that percentage looks to climb in 2014.
