Gatlinburg, Tenn. – The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors' Association and Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiasts from across the globe recently sponsored the Special Olympics Banquet held at the Convention Center in downtown Gatlinburg, Tenn. The Tennessee Chapter of Special Olympics started their Winter Olympic Competitions on Monday, Jan., 26, 2015 and followed the evening with a dinner and dance for all competitors and coaches present.

TWHBEA Marketing Coordinator Kristen Corbin was present to hand out gift bags and posters to all of the kids and adults. Donna Parton accompanied Kristen in handing out the bags and talking to the kids. "If it weren't for Donna getting the word out to all TWH lovers that the Special Olympics needed help sponsoring the event or it was going to be cancelled, TWHBEA would have never had this opportunity," stated Corbin.

TWHBEA and Tennessee Walking Horse Enthusiasts were presented an award by Tennessee Special Director of Field Services, Joanne Drumright.  She thanked everyone for all the help in sponsoring the banquet. TWHBEA hopes to be able to create a partnership with the Special Olympics to be able to continue to help with future events.
