The Gallatin Lions Club has made the difficult decision to cancel their horse show traditionally held on the second Saturday in May.  In a letter, long-time show manager Martin Spears spoke of the difficulty of the decision but ultimately it was a decision the Lions Club felt they had to make.

A copy of Spears letter is below:

Dear Tennessee Walking Horse Family,

The Gallatin Lions club regrets to inform you that we have made the difficult to cancel our Horse Show. This decision is one that was not entered into lightly, but it is the decision that we feel we must make as an organization.  We would like to thank each of you for the support that you have given to the Gallatin Lions Club Horse over the past 57 years. Through your efforts and partnership we have raised thousands of dollars in support our Lions Sight Charities.  We have enjoyed sharing our town with you and appreciate your friendship.

Many of you have consistently spent your second Saturday in May on our grounds, and for that we are forever grateful.  We wish you and your families continued success.  We will be cheering for you!

In the words of our longtime Master of Ceremonies, Bobby Sands, “Let ‘em walk on!”

All the Best,

Martin Spears, Show Manager
