Tennessee Master Horse Program
Based on the positive response from participants and UT Extension agents to the 2023 TMHP, we are planning another state coordinated hybrid program that will run from January - March 2024.
The state-coordinated program will contain the following contents:
9 virtual sessions from 7-8:30pm on Thursdays from January 11-March 8, 2024
9 “office hour” sessions on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:30pm Eastern from January 17-March 6, 2024 (to answer participant questions from previous week)
1 admission to the Horse Management Field Day (held regionally, see details below)
1 TMHP digital manual (main manual plus additional supplements in PDF format)
1 forage OR soil test
Google Classroom access from January – December 2024

The early bird registration cost is $165 and is open now until December 31, 2023. Late registration costs $195 and will run from January 1-January 10, 2024. Registration is open to individuals 15 years of age or over.

Horse Management Field Days
As in year’s past, the Horse Management Field Days will be held regionally in February 2024. This will allow us to utilize the live sessions as supplements to the TMHP and avoid conflicts that affected participation during the Fall months. These events will be open to individuals that are not registered in the TMHP as well (same as previous years). The dates and locations are as follows:
Eastern Region: February 6, 2024 from 5-9pm Eastern, Brehm Animal Science Arena, Knoxville, TN
Central Region: February 13, 2024 from 5-9pm Central, MTREC, Spring Hill, TN
Western Region: February 12, 2024 from 5-9pm Central, First Farmers Cooperative, Lexington, TN
Registration cost will be $5 prior to February 5, 2024, and $10 at the door (cost is included for TMHP registrants). Each event is open to youth and adults. More details to follow, including specific Horse Management Field Day Flyers.
