The Appalachian Walking & Racking Horse Association (AWRHA) Board of Directors are in close contact with other state organizations regarding the industry’s legal challenges and the “Inclusive Alliance” proposal from industry stakeholders – TWHBEA, TWHNC, and WHTA.

The “Inclusive Alliance” proposal has created an overwhelming amount of concern especially for those outside the middle Tennessee show circuit. While we realize this proposal is in the infant stage, there is a great amount of work to be done before any such proposal can be considered sustainable. For a proposal such as this, representation from state organizations in the decision-making process is imperative, and the financial impact must be affordable.

The ongoing legal challenges for the TWH industry are a serious financial concern. AWRHA believes external organizations need to support the legal fund and encourage them to find an innovative way to do so. To demonstrate our unity with other state organizations, AWRHA vows to create a legal fund contribution plan in the coming weeks.

Although AWRHA is a small association serving the Appalachian region, we feel our voice deserves to be heard by industry leaders. We pledge to continue our discussions with other state organizations to demonstrate our alliance on these matters.
