Obituary - Alice Givens




Alice Marie Sledge Givens, age 79, passed away October 5, 2017 at NHC Health Care. She was a native and lifelong resident of Rutherford County and attended Shiloh Baptist Church. 

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Gladys Marie Messick Sledge; husband, Harold Dean Givens; son, Jeff Givens; and brothers, Bill and Dudley Sledge. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Givens; grandchildren, Kelsey and Christopher (Raegan) Givens; great-grandchild Aubree Willingham; and niece, Cyndi Pinegar.

Visitation with the family was held on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home.

A chapel service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 with Rev. Bobby Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Arrangements are under the direction of Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 South Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130.
