The Energy & Commerce committee held a markup on several pieces of legislation today (September 21), one of which was the PAST Act.  The PAST Act passed out of committee by a 46-9 vote and now will await a vote on the House floor.  The action today was not an unexpected result and only reinforces the need for industry supporters to make their representatives aware of the tremendous damage that would be caused by the passage of the PAST Act.

Industry groups as well as representatives of the industry are taking every possible step to not allow the PAST Act to pass through either the House or Senate and will challenge any implementation of the PAST Act to the fullest extent possible.  Any attempt to implement the PAST Act, through legislation or the regulatory process, will be fought in every possible way to protect the Tennessee Walking Horse in the show ring.
