SCWHA releases letter canceling annual State Championship
Wednesday, August 19, 2020
Greetings SCWHA members,
I hope this letter finds you all doing as well as possible given these crazy times we find ourselves in. To say this year has been different would be a huge understatement. Each and every one of our lives have been affected by Covid-19 in profound ways and unfortunately horse show season has faced major challenges as well.
In light of the continued uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus epidemic, and after considerable discussion, the SCWHA board has come to the difficult decision to cancel our annual state championship show this October at Clemson. This decision did not come easily for us but after consulting with Clemson’s Garrison arena and the fact that they had not made a final determination on whether the facility would be open for use by that time, we were unanimous in deciding that it would be best for the association to not proceed with our annual show this year.
The board is working on how to move forward with planning for next year and have several ideas we hope to bring before the members soon.
We hope and pray that each and every one of you stays safe and healthy. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the officers or board members if you have questions or concerns.
Thank you for your continued support of our association and I anxiously await the day when we can all gather together again to celebrate our wonderful TWH.
Keep walking on!
Sincerely,
Keels Kirby,
President, SCWHA
Jennifer Moye,
Vice President, SCHWA
Patricia Hiott,
Secretary, SCWHA
Darleen Buckner,
Treasurer, SCWHA
