The criminal trial of Alecia Cooper has been continued from its original date of Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the request of the defendant's attorney. A May 4 meeting has been set to agree on the date for trial.
Ms. Cooper has also filed suit against the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration for for punitive and compensatory damages in the amount of $1,250,000. Depositions and discovery are currently underway in that case and no trial date has been set.
Both cases stem from an altercation between Ms. Cooper and officer Becky Hord at the 2005 Celebration.
