WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - The 56th annual Waynesville Lions Club Horse Show was held at the Haywood County Fairgrounds, July 19, 2008. The funds raised from this show go to the handicap and the needy in the community with emphasis on helping the visually and auditory handicap. The Lions Club regulations specify that all the funds raised are to be put back into community service.

There were 37 classes offered this year for the walking and URHOEA racking horses. Roger Varney from Flat Gap, Ky., judged the walking horses and Eugene Green from Greeneville, Tenn., judged the racking classes.

The Walking Horse Stake class had eight entries. Allen Abee and Jazz Cash captured the blue ribbon, floral horseshoe and trophy for the second year in a row. They gave the crowd and proud owners Steve and Lisa Howard a great show.
