Barn Dance Benefits Great Strides Therapeutic Riding

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – A barn dance was held at Sand Creek Sales Barn Nov. 15, 2008, to benefit Great Strides, a therapeutic riding program for Bedford County. Around 120 people enjoyed a casual night of dinner and dancing to a live band. This was the first year a barn party was used as a fundraiser for this organization. The program also raises money from the concession stand at the Money Tree Classic. Other organizations and individuals make contributions for this program.

Alice Johnson, chairman, said, “ We were pleased with the turnout and the participation of the whole community in our First Annual Barn Dance. We hope it will become a traditional event that people will look forward to each year.”

Sponsors included Sand Creek Farms, Celebration, Inc., Frank Neal, Cooper Steel and World Champion Horse Equipment along with several individuals and other businesses in Shelbyville.
