Bedford Cancer Foundation to Sponsor Walking For Cancer Show

The Bedford Cancer Foundation is excited to announce that they will again be sponsoring The Walking For Cancer Horse Show. This annual horse show is one of the major sources of funds for The Foundation, a·501 (c) (3) corporation. In 7 years, the Foundation has provided more than $150,000 in assistance to patients and families in Bedford County who are having financial difficulties due to having cancer. The Foundation is not affiliated with any other organization and the Board members all serve donating their time and resources. The Foundation's motto is 'What We Raise, Stays".

The horse show will be held at the Champions Arena on The Celebration grounds on Saturday, April 16, 2016 and will feature 30 exciting classes including both flat shod and padded performance horses.

Admission is $5.00 with children under 6 being admitted free. Box seats of 6 are available at $50 per Box.

Classes will include a Pink Ribbon Performance Amateur Specialty Class where amateurs will be riding in honor of or in memory of a cancer victim. There will also be the always popular and fun Pro-Am Specialty Class. Of the 30 total classes, 10 will be Rider's Cup classes which will include a canter class for mares and geldings and the canter Stake Class.

There will be a $200 bonus prize to the trainer showing the most horses. We welcome sponsorships which are as follows:

Class Sponsor - $200 Trophy Sponsor -$75 Ribbon Sponsor - $50 2 Floral Horseshoes- $150 ea. Stake Class -$2,000 Sponsorships can be made in honor or in memory of an individual.

Again this year there will be an opportunity to have a class NAMED for someone for $500. It will remain that NAMED class for future shows as long as there is a sponsor at the regular sponsorship of $200.

In addition, there is the opportunity at $300 to sponsor a Challenge Trophy for the Stake Class. Challenge Trophies for regular classes are $250 each.

There will be fun for everyone; good food with many wonderful homemade desserts,a silent auction and entertaining music showcasing the greatest breed of horse, the beautiful Tennessee Walking Horse.
