Despite recent false accusations from Congressman Ed Whitfield’s Press Secretary Marty Irby, Bedford County Sheriff Randall Boyce has not endorsed the PAST Act introduced by Congressman Whitfield.  The National Sheriffs’ Association sent letters of endorsement to Whitfield and Senator Kelly Ayotte voicing their support of the PAST Act on April 22, 2014.  Irby then posted along with a photo of Sheriff Boyce the endorsement on his facebook page.

When contacted for comment, Sheriff Boyce said, “I am not a member of the National Sheriffs’ Association nor have I talked with anyone with the NSA regarding this legislation or the endorsement by NSA.  I have not spoken with Marty Irby regarding the PAST Act and do not endorse this piece of legislation.”

He continued, “Our county relies heavily on the Tennessee Walking Horse industry and I support the industry and all of the citizens of Bedford County that are impacted by it.  Any statement to the contrary is simply not true.”
