Celebration Announces Streaming Video Partnership
Saturday, May 7, 2005
The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration is proud to announce a joint partnership with Charter Media
and WdA International to provide live streaming video coverage of the 35th Annual Spring Fun Show and the 67th Annual Celebration.
The project will allow fans around the world to view the two events via computer.
“This is a project we have been working on for quite some time,” said Celebration CEO Ron Thomas. “We wanted to make sure we did this the right way. Being able to partner with Charter Media and use their technical expertise should make for a good viewing experience for fans of the breed and our shows.”
Streaming video will be made available free of charge for the Spring Fun Show while viewers will have an option of purchasing nightly, championship weekend, or full show packages for The Celebration.
“We continue to be very happy with our relationship with The Celebration,” said Audrey Wiseman, Charter Media Vice-President of Advertising for Tennessee, Kentucky, and Louisiana. “This project is a natural progression to provide wonderful family entertainment for our customers and expand the audience for The Celebration.”
Charter Media and The Celebration have been testing the system to assure viewers that they will be receiving clean video and audio. Final on-site testing will occur within the next two weeks.
“I expect there will be a great deal of interest,” remarked Bill Anderson of WdA International. “The new format of the show should add to the excitement each night and we are proud to provide the video for this project.”
Fans wanting to view the Spring Fun Show will need to make sure they have the latest version of Windows Media Player downloaded to their computer. Higher speed connections, such as Charter Pipeline, other cable-based connections, or DSL will provide the smoothest viewing experience. An active link will go up each night on The Celebration’s home page (www.twhnc.com) as well as Charter Mainstreet (www.chartermainstreettn.com).
The 35th Annual Spring Fun Show is scheduled for May 26-28 at Calsonic Arena at the Historic Celebration Grounds. The 67th Annual Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration is slated for August 24-September 3.
