For the fifteenth consecutive year, The Celebration and The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association participated in the Tennessee Department of Tourism’s “Salute to the State Legislature.” This event is held each year to recognize and honor the Tennessee State Legislature on its first official day of business.

The Celebration and TWHBEA’s booth at the carnival-like event was manned by the Celebration’s Ron Thomas, Charles McDonald, Connie Nixon and Barbara Turner. Bob Cherry represented TWHBEA.

The “Salute” was elaborately set up in the ballroom of the Sheraton in downtown Nashville. There was an abundance of good food and exciting game booths where legislators, their families and staff could try their luck at winning prizes.

“This evening is always a lot of fun,” said Celebration Board Member Charles McDonald. “But, more importantly, it presents an excellent avenue where we can communicate to all of our friends in the government our messages about not only the Celebration but the industry dedicated to the wonderful breed of horse that we represent.”
