SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The search for a new chief executive officer and show manager for the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration® continues, but will reach an important milestone later this week.  The search committee, headed up by Celebration Director Pat Marsh, will continue to accept resumes through January 31st.

In addition to Marsh, the other members of the committee are all members of the TWHNCsm Association.  They include Tommy Anderton, David Crowell, Edward C. Huffman, Jr., Scott McDonald, D.B. Nelson, Jr., and Donna Stone.

“We’ve been extremely pleased with the number and quality of candidates that have expressed interest in the position,” said Marsh.  “We have received several dozen resumes to this point and we expect more during this final week.”

The committee has already conducted preliminary interviews with a few candidates and that pace will pick up once the application deadline passes.  The committee will choose the candidates they feel are most qualified for the position for interviews before making recommendations to the Celebration Board of Directors.

“This committee has been diligent in this process,” added Marsh.  “Every candidate that applies is getting a very thorough look.”

The committee continues to meet on a weekly basis or more frequently should it be needed.  Marsh said his committee’s goal is to have recommendations made and an agreement in place with the individual selected by March 1.
