Celebration plans new ideas for Fall Classic; Will host brand new two-year-old class

The Celebration recently made the decision to move the Tunica Fall Classic back to Shelbyville and host the event, now named the Celebration Fall Classic, at Calsonic Arena. Due to the conditions at the casinos and rules and regulations regarding Covid-19, The Celebration decided it was best not to host the show in Tunica.

In order to keep as much of the festive atmosphere as possible, The Celebration will construct a show ring within Calsonic similar to that at Tunica which will allow for ringside tables. These tables were always well-received in Tunica and provide an up close view of the action in the ring.

The tables, which will cost $1500, come with eight seats, eight meal tickets per night and access to bar service on the floor of Calsonic Arena as well as drink service to the tables. The food each night will be provided by Rowdy Ranch Catering. The tables also qualify for a bronze level sponsorship of the horse show and parking passes.

Due to the setup of the tables along with the food and bar service, the Hall of Fame Club will not be open during the Celebration Fall Classic. "We were disappointed not to be able to go back to Tunica but we are committed to doing what we can to keep as many of the items that make an out-of-town show fun and entertaining,” said Chairman Rick Insell.

In addition, The Celebration will host a first-time class at the Celebration Fall Classic. The Celebration will host a new $1,000 Open Two-Year-Old class on Saturday night. The idea came from the successful Maiden class at the WHOA International and will be for any two-year-old that has not yet been in the show ring in 2020.  Additional monetary incentives will be announced for the class as the show draws closer. “It is our hope after talking to several trainers that this class can provide these horses an avenue to get in the ring prior to their three-year-old year and bring excitement to our spectators who love watching the industry’s young horses,” said Insell.

The 2020 Celebration Fall Classic will be held November 5-7, 2020 at Calsonic Arena. A class sheet will be released on Monday October 5th. For sponsorship information and to reserve your ringside table for the show contact Connie Allen at The Celebration at 931-684-5915 or callen@twhnc.com.
