Celebration officials have decided to postpone Saturday morning's slate of classes scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. until negotiations between industry officials and the USDA can be resolved.
On Friday evening, after two classes, Celebration officials postponed the remainder of the evening session due to conflicts regarding interpretation of the Horse Protection Act and its regulations.
This morning, a large group of Walking Horse trainers gathered in the Celebration Plaza area to discuss the current issues. Walking Horse Trainers Association Board of Director members attempted to explain the current status of industry negotiations to the crowd.
An official called meeting of the Walking Horse Trainers Association was scheduled for today at 1:00 p.m. at the WHTA Building in Shelbyville. The Report will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
