DALLAS, N.C. – Biggerstaff Park in Dallas, N.C. was the home to two horse shows on May 16 and 17, 2008. The Gaston County Shrine Horse Show was held Friday night, followed by the North Carolina Walking Horse Ladies Auxiliary Walking for the Children Show on Saturday evening. This lovely facility is located amidst green mountains, overlooking a lake at the Park. Exhibitors and spectators enjoyed working their horses in the lovely park each day and many camped between the barns and the lake.

Michael Daniel of Madison, Tenn., marked the cards for the 32-class event. The highlight of the evening was seven talented horses competing in the Championship Stake class for $1,500. After a second running walk on the reverse way, The Sure Thing and Chad Adams were called out to make the victory pass. Adams owns and trains this black head-shaking stallion. Reserve in the class went to Chad Baucom and LAPD for Joey Tidwell of Rockmart, Ga. The third place ribbon was awarded to Allen Abee aboard Jazz Cash for Steve and Lisa Howard.

Chad Baucom Stables led the blue ribbon tally with five blues while Mike Klutz of High Hope Stables earned three blues. Abee Stables, Derek Bonner Stables, Danny Kistler Stables, John Puckette Stables, John Toney Stables and Mike Bennett of Walk Away Farms each earned dual blues.
