The SHOW HIO has received valuable input on the proposed rule changes and encourages everyone to weigh in with their comments. However, SHOW has also received comments regarding this show season. The proposed rule changes are not in effect this year and comments will be received until August 1, 2016 and nothing will be done on this proposed change prior to 2017.
The committee was extremely torn on this proposed rule change and could not recommend a unanimous suggestion which is one of the reasons for the comment period for the industry to weigh in. The issue has valid arguments on both sides and other equine industries treat this issue differently in their breed specific rulebooks.
