Chairman Craig Evans has filed a formal complaint with the National Horse Show Commission. The complaint is based upon information provided to the NHSC by the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration.
Commission Director of Animal Welfare Lonnie Messick is investigating the complaint and will issue his findings as soon as possible.
“I received credible information from Celebration officials and filed the complaint,” Evans said.
“The Commission will investigate the matter fully and take appropriate action if warranted.”
The Celebration made a verbal report to the Commission on Monday, January 27, at their monthly meeting. Celebration CEO Ron Thomas made the report and was accompanied by Board Chairman Pat Marsh, director David Howard and Todd Bobo, legal counsel to the Celebration.
The Celebration will issue a public statement concerning the investigation conducted by attorney Tracy Shaw in the next week to ten days.
