RUSSELL SPRINGS, Ky. - The Russell County Fair Horse Show was held at the fairgrounds in Russell Springs, Ky., on Aug. 2, 2008. With a newly expanded and redesigned arena, the show was an overwhelming success with 295 entries according to show management. David Latham judged the walking horses and Kelly France judges the racking horses.

The blue ribbon tally was tied at three with J & H Stables and Grider Stables having three blues each. Jason Hughes won the six-entry Walking Stake class aboard Poisonamania for Kristy Smith of Mt. Sterling, Ky.

Show management would like to thank everyone who supported the show this year and asked that everyone come to the show again next year. The new show ring was very beneficial to the show, and Show Manager John Gosser said that hopefully the ring won’t be the only new edition with more new things to come.
