Three-time Premier Futurity sire Hillbilly’s Bud Lite, by Prides Generator and out of a Sun’s Delight D. daughter, was humanly put to rest April 6, 2010 after a brief bout with cancer. He was bred by Winfred Teal of Manchester, Tenn., and formerly owned by Harry Bosley Ft. Ashby, W.Va., the late Ruthanne Whetstone of Buffalo Mills, Pa., and since 2003 by Brad Woodruff, at Aztlan Farms located in Petersburg, Ill.

Bud was named a foundation sire for the Champagne Breeders’ and Owners’ Association due to the quality and number of his get and champagne lines that trace to him. Besides a few precious straws of frozen semen, Bud leaves a legacy of heirs to carry on his genetics, notably Peso De Oro, My Diamond Dust and the up and coming stallion Skip The Champagne. He will be missed.
