Equine Death-Papa Joe’s Secret



Papa Joe’s Secret, 26, passed away on May 8, 2009. Papa Joe was a multi-world champion, first brought to the winner’s circle by Billy Gray, then under the direction of Edwards Stables, and later by Allan Callaway Stables, where he was owned by Bill Callaway. Papa Joe’s Secret was by Pride’s Secret Threat and out of a Papa Joe K mare. He was bred by A.J. “Papa Joe” Kakassy. Bill Callaway enjoyed numerous blue ribbon rides abroad Papa Joe in the Youth Pony class. Papa Joe spent his last years at the home of Bill and Meg Callaway, where he had his own barn and roamed his pasture freely. Papa Joe was truly an ambassador for the breed, winning his last show before retirement at the age of 17. Papa Joe will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love him.
