Equine Obituary – Cut A Rug
Saturday, June 8, 2019
World Champion Cut A Rug, age 22, was laid to rest at Bottoms Stables on Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Cut A Rug started his show ring career under the direction of Jimmy McConnell at Formac Stables, for owners Bob and Mary Medina. While at Formac Stables, Cut A Rug and McConnell won the Four-Year Gelding World Championship. Cut A Rug was later purchased by Kyle Bush and spent many successful years in the show ring under the direction of Scott Beaty Stables and Michael Burton Stables. In 2015, Cut A Rug and Chloe Casteel teamed up for the Youth 11 and Under division. Chloe and Cut A Rug made his last show ring appearance at the 2017 Celebration. Cut A Rug was a true ambassador of the Tennessee Walking Horse, a true show horse and a once in a lifetime horse. He will be deeply missed.
