Equine Obituary - Gone To Glory
Monday, November 17, 2008

World Champion Gone To Glory was humanely euthanized due to complications from arthritis, on Monday night, November 3, 2008 at the age of 20. Gone to Glory was most recently owned by Sharon and Mike Murphy, Scott Depot, West Virginia.
Glory was born on April 10, 1988 at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee. Gone to Glory was by Pride’s Hallelujah and out of Gold Vale by Pride’s Gold Coin. He stood 16.3 hands, and was crowned the 1990 Futurity Two Year Old Plantation Champion, the 1991 Carriage Driving Flat Shod World Champion, the 1993 Carriage Driving Flat Shod World Champion, and the 1994 Model Stallion & Gelding World Champion. At that time he was owned by Kathy Owen, Cookeville, Tennessee. Gone To Glory was also owned and stood for several years at Seventh Heaven Farms with Gene and Nicole Carswell. He spent his final years of retirement residing in a small farm in West Virginia. Where he enjoyed spending time in the pasture, always making sure his three stable mates were accounted for; trail rides through the fall foliage; and being admired by many while carriage driving in local parades. Gone to Glory’s bloodline, size, wonderful disposition, and proven plantation performance are all qualities that made him a true champion to the Walking Horse Breed.
Glory was a great loveable horse and will be missed by all; especially the Murphy Family and their daughter Morgan.
