Jazz’s Master was peacefully laid to rest on January 12, 2022. Foaled on June 8, 2000, he was sired by A Jazz Man and out of a mare named Excalibur’s Mistress.

With an attractive resume that included a World Grand Championship, two Reserve World Grand Championships, five World Championships and two Reserve World Championships, the gorgeous chestnut enjoyed a successful career. He began his show ring career in 2003, as three-year-old under the direction of Jimmy McConnell with owners Bill and Sandra Johnson. Jazz’s Master experienced training time under the direction of Dick Peebles, Brock Tillman at David Landrum Stables and Brandye Mills where he experienced many of his accomplishments with owner Buddy Stasney.

In 2009, he was purchased from Stasney by Kelly Arrington and remained with his owner under the direction of Brandye Mills for the duration of his career where his successful track record continued. Affectionately known as Jazzy, he retired after earning 50 career blues. One of his owner’s most treasured accomplishments is his Ladies Amateur Specialty Horse of the Year award in 2013.

He spent his retirement days at Tribute Stables with Joan Kemp where he was able to be a horse and frequently enjoy the soft peppermints he has always loved.
