World Champion Kat Man Dude passed away on Saturday, January 30th, following an emergency colic surgery. Kat Man Dude was 12 years old and was loved and owned by Barrow, Carla and Ashtyn Claire Brown of Columbia, Tenn. At the time of his death, he was trained by Philip Trimble Stables and under the supervision of Dr. Jim Baum.

Kat Man Dude and Carla Brown were the 2008 Amateur Novice Ladies on Mares or Geldings World Champion. The thrilling team ended the 2008 season by winning the Amateur Specialty Championship at the Southern Championship and enjoyed a successful season concluding with the Alabama Jubilee Amateur Ladies Specialty victory. He began his 2009 season with a stake victory with Philip Trimble at the Shelby County Heart of Dixie show. This talented gelding carried many riders to victory throughout his career. His last performance was with Clay Sanderson at the Delta Fall Classic where they were named the Amateur Canter Champions.

He carried previous owner Polly Ware to a reserve world championship in 2005 and Ray Gilmer to the 2004 Mares and Geldings Reserve World Grand Championship. He also won many blues under Ray Gilmer and L.H. Gaines. His many fans and everyone who loved to see the big gelding perform will miss him.
