Kick Start Jazz was born on October 1, 2007 and was humanely laid to rest on September 24, 2022. He was loved by Justin, Amanda and Walker Manis as well as many others. Jazz was bred by George and Diane McAlpin of Mayfield, Kentucky and was started by Latham Stables.

Justin and his grandmother Charlene Richardson purchased Jazz in 2009 after just turning two and he was moved to trainer, Steve Sanders in Huntsville, Alabama.

Justin’s lifelong dream was to win a world grand championship and Jazz brought that dream to a reality for him. In 2012, together they won the Amateur Lite-Shod World Grand Championship on a night to remember.

Jazz went on to win 6 World Championships, 3 Reserve World Championships and a Reserve World Grand Championship with riders Amanda and Justin Manis and Steve Sanders at the Celebration. Jazz also claimed 6 World Grand Championship titles with the National Spotted Saddle Horse Association and was the 2019 International Best of Show Grand Champion with Amanda. He has won at almost every major showcase in the industry making him a horse of a lifetime.

Kick Start Jazz will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
