Equine Obituary - Push This
Thursday, January 12, 2017
World Champion Push This passed away on December 16, 2016. The 25-year-old mare was owned by Delores Griffith of Alvaton, Ky., for most of her life.
Sired by The Pusher C.G. and out of a Delight’s Dark Shadow mare, Push This was foaled on March 26, 1991. She began her training under the direction of Billy and Tim Gray. In 1993, Billy directed her to win the Two-Year-Old Mare & Gelding World Championship. The following year, Tom Kakassy rode Push This to a reserve tie in the Three-Year-Old Mares World Championship at the 1994 Celebration.
Push This caught the eye of the Griffith family and was purchased at the Kentucky After Christmas Sale in 1995. She went on to be shown successfully by Delores Griffith and Courtney Griffith-Luttrell under the direction of Mike Thomas and Keith Becknell.
She retired from her show ring career in 1997. Push This has produced several show ring stars including: 4xWC Conga Line, He’s High Dollar, Shenanigans, Gen-U-Wine JFK and The Kentucky Line.
