It is with great sadness to report that Two-Time World Champion Steel Watch has passed away. Steel Watch was operated on Thursday evening 8/14/08 for colic due to his small intestine dropping down into his scrotum. Due to his declining recovery a second surgery was performed yesterday and Steel Watch passed away during recovery.
Steel Watch was shown on many occasions by his former owner Joey Manos and his father Joseph Manos. Joseph Manos and Steel Watch were the Lite Shod 50 and over World Champions in 2004. He was purchased in 2006 by Sandra Johnson and Steel Watch carried Sandra to 2 International titles and to the Western Plantation Pleasure Lite shod for Amateur Riders World title in 2006. He was the 2007 Reserve World Grand Champion Western Lite Shod Horse.
If horse shows never existed, and championships were never thought of, “Juke” as he was affectionately known would still have been one of the great ones. He was a friend to Sandra Johnson and all those that cared for him.
