ETWHA Elects 2008 Officers

The East Tennessee Walking Horse Association (ETWHA) recently held their membership meeting and elected their 2008 officers at the Holiday Inn in White Pine, Tenn. The new board of directors are President Mike Holbrook, 865-850-9747; Vice-President Mark Ricker, 423-361-3943; Secretary Vickie Ricker, 423-470-6655; Jackie Barron, 423-612-7077; Vickie Hughes, 828-208-7872; Tony Bull, 865-680-7589; Larry Rader, 423-639-7570; Dwight Brooks, 423-921-2778 and Richard Lindsey, 865-850-9151.
The ETWHA will hold a colt preview and barn party at Summer Hills Farm on March 8, 2008. The Commissioner of Agriculture Ken Givens will be attending. There will be a barbecue luncheon, colt preview and auction.
The ETWHA Board of Directors has added two classes to the high point category. They are Trail Pleasure Youth (17 & Under) and Lite-Shod Youth (17 & Under).
The ETWHA Classic will be held June 19-21, 2008, the ETWHA Ladies Auxiliary Show will be held Aug. 2, 2008, at Newport, Tenn., the ETWHA Fall Classic will be Oct. 16-18, 2008 and the fourth annual ETWHA Trainers’ Show will be Oct. 23-25, 2008. Three of these shows will be held at the Walter Expo Center in White Pine, Tenn.
