Excellent Competition at Friday Night Fun Show

The many visitors that traveled to the Fun Show on the weekend before Memorial Day were treated Friday night to large classes loaded with competition with both future and past world champions. On Friday night the 15 classes had 175 entries bringing the total entries for the first two nights to 383 entries. These large competitive classes continued as USDA VMOs and NHSC DQPs assisted one another in the inspection area for the second consecutive night.

The largest class of the evening was the WHTA Riders’ Cup Three-Year-Old Mares and Geldings with 20 entries. Dale Watts traveled from Mississippi to claim victory with the flax-mane and tail Spin My Money for owners Brett and Lisa Jones.

The fact that only one barn received two blues proved many stables brought their top stock and many trainers returned home with 38th Fun Show blues. Rising Star Ranch won dual blues for the second night in a row. Also taking home blues were Tim Smith Stables, Rob Brainard Stables, David Landrum Stables, Allison Thorson, Dale Watts of Pioneer Stables, Winky Groover Stables, Liz Gassaway, Howard Hamilton of Southern Serenity Ranch, Chad Baucom Stables, Herbert Derickson Training Facility, Charlie Green of Victory Stables, Peebles Stables, LLC and Chad Williams Stables.
It was also notable that Pollack’s Silver Spur Ranch owned two winners in back-to-back classes. First Sherri Pollack received the blue in the one of the most competitive classes of the evening, the 12-entry Owner-Amateur Riders on Walking Stallions, Over 15.2 class, aboard current World Grand Champion I’m P. Diddy. Another current World Grand Champion, The Golden Sovereign, ridden by Virginia Stewart picked up the reserve position.

In the very next class, Patti Pollack aboard another current World Grand Champion, The Concealed Weapon, topped the 19-entry Owner-Amateur Riders On Park Performance Walking Horses class.
The crowd left anticipating another great show Saturday night. Complete results for the 38th Annual Fun Show can be seen here -
