A recent release by the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association about the Farm Bureau endorsing TWHBEA’s Sanctioning Plan prompted controversy at the semi-annual meeting of the TWHBEA International Board of Directors.

The release included a quote from Bob Stallman, President of the American Farm Bureau Federation who indicated that soring was a practice that “continues today, and in fact, may be increasing in occurrence.”

Once the rumor mill had a little time to get going full speed, the story was out that Stallman had in fact never made that statement and it was being attributed to TWHBEA officials.

The Report contacted Bob Stallman at the American Farm Bureau Federation and was informed that he had been quoted correctly and that the statement was attributable to him.
