The Foundation for the Advancement and Support of the Tennessee Walking Show Horse (FAST) will sponsor an upcoming SHOW DQP continuing education seminar. The continuing education will include all 10 of the Designated Qualified Persons (DQP) that will work the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, Aug. 25–Sept. 4, 2010. The session will be conducted by SHOW President Dr. Stephen L. Mullins and DQP Coordinator Tony Edwards.

“This type of continuing education goes directly to the mission of FAST, which is to promote and preserve the Tennessee Walking Show Horse. We have promised our donor base and our supporters that their dollars will be injected into the industry to immediately help to promote our great show horse,” said FAST President Mike Inman. FAST donated $3,500 to SHOW in order to conduct the continuing education program.

As part of the session, owners and trainers are invited to attend the training to obtain hands-on exposure to the inspection process and compliance standards.  The event will take place at Winky Groover Stables at Saddlecrest Farm on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 at 1:00PM CST. Horses will be provided by Groover, but trainers are welcome to bring outside horses to the training.

The session is intended to be an interactive session and will provide owners and trainers the opportunity to ask questions and see first-hand how horses are inspected per the guidelines of the Horse Protection Act.
