Fun Show Ends With "Honors"
Sunday, May 24, 2015
The 45th Annual Spring Fun was held on its traditional Memorial Day weekend date. The show featured 401 entries this year compared to 276 in 2014, a 45% increase. The quality of the horses can be summed up best with the final class of Saturday evening. Making his much anticipated return to the show ring, Honors and Larry Edwards captured a unanimous first place tie and left the ring to a standing ovation.
Honors was impressive but he wasn't in the ring alone and the other competitors made him earn his first blue ribbon on 2015. Finishing in second were The Bourne Legacy and Bill Callaway and in third were Folsom Prison Blues and Casey Wright. In fourth were Jimmer Fredette and Dale Watts meaning the top four horses in the stake were all past World Grand Champions. Rounding out the top five were Magic's Pure Ritz and Herbert Derickson.
The quality of the horses and depth of the classes were a blast from the past and set the stage for a great summer of horse shows. Full coverage of the Fun Show is online and will be in the June 1st issue of WHR.
