FWRHA Holds Meeting and Banquet

MONTEVERDE, Fla. – The Florida Walking and Racking Horse Association held their annual meeting and awards banquet at the Montverde Academy on January 15, 2011. Attendees elected a new board of directors, enjoyed a great meal, received awards and participated in a lively silent auction.

Leslie Ehrich was thrilled to receive the Park Performance Specialty High Point Award for Dancing For Cash from Darren Gray. Dancing For Cash claimed four blue ribbons during the 2010 show season. Brice Ehrich also accepted High Point honors for Oh Manhattan in the Walking Open Specialty division.

Mary Palmer joined Darren Gray to accept top honors in the Model Walking and Racking division with Skyjacker’s Untold Secret and the Trail Pleasure Walking Amateur Four and Under Specialty with Jose’ On The Bay.

The newly elected FWRHA posed for a picture after the awards presentations. From left to right the board includes: Ola Archer, Janie Van De Walker, Carol Wakefield, Kasey Kesselring, Toni Specht, Wayne Dean, Gail Hart, Terry Martin, Darren Gray and Wayne Conkle.

Darren Gray presented Sydney Hardat the Youth Country Pleasure High Point award for Princess Dumas. Princess Dumas won four blues last year along with other numerous honors. Princess Dumas also won the Youth Country Pleasure 11 & Under division and the Youth Easy Gait 11 & Under division with Skyler Berk.

Jack Mont was happy to accept the Amateur Owned & Trained Country Pleasure High Point award for I Am The Ladies Man. I Am The Ladies Man was also reserve in the Country Pleasure Western Specialty division. Mont also accepted reserve honors for Pal’s Peppermint Patti in the Amateur Owned And Trained Spotted Trail Pleasure.

Janie Van De Walker accepted several awards from Darren Gray throughout the evening. Wayne Van De Walker directed Smarty’s Gone An Done It to the Amateur Owned & Trained Trail Pleasure Specialty. Janie won the Trail Pleasure Racking division with Dealer’s Pretty Lady.

Wayne Dean accepted the Walking Show Pleasure Specialty High Point Award for Bold Reaction and Kailin Kesselring.
