It Was Only A Game In Dallas

by Linda Scrivner

DALLAS, N.C. – The NCWHLA Walking For The Children Show was held on Saturday night, following the Gaston County Shrine Club Show from the previous night at the Biggerstaff Park in Dallas, N.C. These two shows were exceptional and was almost like a two-night show with two different judges

Allen Forman traveled from Georgia to judge the 34-class event. These shows were affiliated with KWHA, NCWHA and VWHA.

Baucom Stables once again led the blue ribbon tally with eight blues. Bonner Stables returned home with four blues as did Mike Klutz of High Hope Stables. Helms Farm and David Mesimer Stables each earned three blues. Amanda Dickerson won dual blues.

The $1,000 first place money in the Stake class brought eight talented entries to vie for the prizes. It’s Only A Game was selected to wear the roses for Charles Clark with Chad Baucom in the irons. Reserve went to Derek Monahn aboard Nightfall At The Ritz for Ron Folger while the yellow streamer was claimed by Pusher’s Powerhouse and Derek Bonner for Dr. Irving Williams.
