COOKEVILLE, Tenn. The 35th annual Upper Cumberland Walking Horse Show was held at the Hyder-Burks Agriculture Pavilion on Saturday, April 5, 2008. The audience enjoyed the warm indoor facility of the Hyder-Burks Pavilion in spite of the cool temperatures outside.

This show was sponsored by the Cookeville Evening Lions Club and was assisted by the Upper Cumberland Walking Horse Association. The UCWHA hosted a silent auction during the show. The proceeds from the auction help youth members of the association attend the annual Juvenile Equestrian Camp at Middle Tennessee State University, sponsor 4-H judging teams and provide college scholarships as well as other worthy community contributions.

There were 30 classes on the schedule to be judged by Mike Carpenter of Franklin, Tenn. A large crowd of spectators turned out for the event.

Scott Beaty Stables led the blue ribbon tally with six blues. Jeff Hatcher Stables followed next with three blues. Dual blues were won by Webby Burch Stables, Jason Day Stables, Jeff Green of Shamrock Stables, Frankie Roark Stables, Dickie Scrivner of Tan View Farms and Randy Young Stables.
