The allure of good horses and good food, plus blue mid-seventies skies brought the Walking Horse enthusiasts to the Ontario, California facility of Golden West Farms on Saturday, February 23, 2002 for a pre-launch of the coming show season. Forty horses were presented during the day, including seven form Utah-based Enchanted Gait Stables. The Golden West team fielded twenty two and three-year-old prospects for show and pleasure use, with the Fowler family selecting a pair of talented colts to enhance the training program of their granddaughter, Tami Snodgrass.
Grilled hamburgers and barbecue sandwiches with asoorted salads was the lunch menu for the 150 plus visitors who welcomed the op0portunity to meet and greet after the winter respite. In addition, a silent auction netted proceeds for the benefit of the local association and the Western States Celebration Show in Reno, Nevada.
