Good Times At The Alabama Awards Banquet

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Walking Horse Association of Alabama held their annual awards banquet at the All Steak Restaurant on Jan. 26, 2008. Everyone in attendance enjoyed a fabulous buffet before the awards began. High point and special recognition awards were presented to members of the association.
Representatives were present from Camp Smile-A-Mile to accept a check for $20,000. The Walking Horse Association donated $20,000, the Alabama Futurity gave $4,000 and the Alabama Ladies Auxiliary donated $1,000. Joan Kemp gave an update on the Alabama Futurity and Valerie Smith told the attendees about the work of the Alabama Ladies Auxiliary.
The Walking Horse Association of Alabama 2008 officers were recognized at the banquet. They include President Tommy Hale, First Vice-President Roger Latham, Second Vice-President Morrow Doss, Secretary Vicki Hale, Treasurer Nancy Hawkins and Parliamentarian Brenda May.
