The Walking Horse Trainers’ Association held a drawing following the Annual Awards banquet on December 1, 2007 at the Marriott Cool Springs in Franklin, Tenn. A total of $91,100 in tickets were sold and George Greenup of Pulaski, Tenn., was the winner. After winning $45,050 in the 50/50 drawing, Greenup graciously gave $5,000 back to WHTA to help reach their goal of $50,000 to the Trainers’ Association.

The WHTA initiated the fundraiser to fund the services from Bill Hawks of AgWorks Solution. According to Wink Groover this $50,000 will be full payment for the following five fall shows that Hawks attended on behalf of the Trainers’ Association: International Grand Championships, North Carolina Championships, Alabama Jubilee, Delta Fall Classic and Southern Championships.
