Obituary - Harold Dean Givens




Harold Dean Givens, age 80, passed away February 28, 2017. He was a native of Cannon County but lived most of his life in Rutherford County. Harold served in the National Guard and worked as a barber. He was an ambassador of the Tennessee Walking Horse as a breeder, showman, and served on the TWHBEA Board of Directors from 1997-2001.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Daisy Givens; son, Jeff Givens; brother, Lytle Givens. He is survived by his wife, Alice Marie Sledge Givens; daughter-in-law, Debbie Givens; brother, Kenneth Givens; sister-in-law, Sandra Givens; and grandchildren, Kelsey and Christopher Givens, all of Murfreesboro.

Visitation with the family will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Friday, March 3, 2017 at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home. Chapel service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Jennings and Ayers with Bobby Nichols officiating. burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
