The Heart of America Walking Horse Association held its annual DQP Clinic on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Springfield Fire Station #6 in Springfield, Mo. Many participants, including returning and potential DQPs, trainers and owners were anxious to hear the presentation as well as the new 2010 Points of Emphasis. This year’s training was held in conjunction with the Missouri Foxtrot Association HIO based out of Ava, Mo.

Heart of America President Ted Nichols welcomed everyone to the clinic and then introduced USDA VMOs Dr. Tanya Tims and Dr. Jeff Baker. The USDA presentation included a review of aspects of the Horse Protection Act, scar rule interpretation and digital imaging. The new USDA 2010 points of emphasis generated much discussion among the attendees.
