JACKSON, Miss. – The Heart O’ Dixie Walking and Racking Horse Association held its 2007 banquet at the Steam Room Grille in Jackson, Miss. The food was wonderful with a choice of steak, chicken or seafood and concluded with either bread pudding or chocolate silk pie. Beautiful silver trays were awarded to first place winners.

Heart O’ Dixie had 23 point shows in 2007. Five of these were in Louisiana, one in Texas and the remainder were in Mississippi. President Dr. John Dial welcomed everyone and entertained all present with his jokes and singing during the evening. Josh Watts gave the invocation and while guests were eating, the names were drawn from a 50/50 cash drawing. Judith Dial had the winning ticket and she donated her half back to the association.

The 2008 officers were announced. Michael McGee will be the first vice-president, Reed Estes is second vice-president and Kim Chandler is the secretary/treasurer. The three new board members are Josh Watts, Heather Roberts and Susan Frank. Dr. Dial encouraged everyone to participate in the organization and to send in news for the newsletter.
