He's Vida Blue Recovering From Colic Surgery

Three-time world champion and three-time world grand champion He's Vida Blue is currently recovering from colic surgery at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. Trainer Knox Blackburn stated that "Blue" began to colic on Tuesday afternoon after arriving in Jackson, Miss., for the Mississippi Charity Horse Show.
No intestines had to be removed during the surgery. The veterinarian only had to repair a kink in the intestines and a flipped colon. He will remain at LSU for at least 3-4 days for observation. Owner Kay Green replied, "He's up and doing good."

He's Vida Blue is one of the top contenders for the stake division for this season. Green passed over the reins to Blackburn after capturing their 23rd blue ribbon at the conclusion of the Tunica Fall Classic.
