Hoedown Before The Showdown

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – In an effort to raise money for the WHTA and the WHTA Auxiliary, the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association Auxiliary and the Walking Horse Trainers’ Association are teaming up for a one-night festival to be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at the Calsonic Arena in Shelbyville, Tenn.
Festivities will begin at 6:00PM. Live music will be ongoing including the Carl Johnson Band, Jed Wattz, and Wartrace Railroad with Zach Kerber. There will be a Kids’ Corner with carnival style games, along with an indoor jumper, face painting and more. A booth will be set up with tickets for games at $1.00 per ticket or 12 for $10.00. Food and drink will be on hand including BBQ plates for $5.00.
A cornhole tournament will begin at 6:00PM with pre-registry from 5:00PM-5:45PM. The tournament will be a team event with single elimination and $40.00 per team entry fee. The winning team will collect $300.00. Early entries may be made by mail to WHTA Auxiliary, c/o Jennifer Potts, P.O. Box 61, Shelbyville, TN 37162.
