A Hold Up At Eagleville

by Stephanie Rose

EAGLEVILLE, Tenn.—The Eagleville Lions Club Horse Show was held on a warm day, June 21, on the Eagleville Tractor Club Show Grounds off Highway 99. Judge Larry Martin of Shelbyville, Tenn., marked the cards for the evening. It started promptly at 6 p.m. They had wonderful concessions including a homemade ice cream stand.

Hollis Kelley, an Eagleville Lions Club Member stated, “Thanks for all the ones that supported our horse show. The one night horse show always has and always will be the backbone of our industry. Please support each and every small horse show there is. The one that you don’t support today might be the one we don’t have the opportunity to support later.”

Chad Williams won the Riders’ Cup Championship Stake class at his hometown horse show aboard World Champion I’m Packin’ A Pistol for the Charlene Gibson family of Sykesville, Md. Williams also donated all of the winnings that he earned back to the Lions Club to support the show. World Grand Champion Generator’s Champion and Joel Weaver were reserve in the good class for Brett and Lisa Jones of Tylertown, Miss. The Pusher’s Renaissance and Knox Blackburn rounded out the top three for the Don Beatty family of Franklin, Tenn.
