GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Impressive show horses and their riders took to the center ring at the Greene County Fairgrounds on July 2 to raise funds to help pay for the cost of rebuilding the Holston Home barn that was destroyed by fire on Dec. 13, 2009. More than 300 horses and 800 spectators showed up for the first big-time horse show in Greene County in more than 30 years. The historic old Holston Home barn, built almost 100 years ago, will be replaced, beginning the summer of 2011, in its original location. A check for $12,000 was presented to Holston Home from sponsors of the first Benefit Horse Show.
