An official from the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors' Association has informed the Walking Horse Report that there were four separate votes in the executive committee leading to the unanimous hiring of Charles Hulsey as executive director. The committee agreed prior to voting that they had four good candidates for the position and would vote in such a way as to eventually reach a unanimous decision. The committee wanted to make sure that the new executive director would have the unanimous support of the committee and that the executive committee would be united in their decision. After the first two votes, the committee narrowed the field to the top two vote getters and voted a third time. The final vote was unanimous for Charles Hulsey. The Report was not provided with the names of the four candidates or who received votes on the first three ballots.
